New Book! GLASS CABIN!

I’m thrilled to announce that my husband Jim and I have co-written Glass Cabin, a collection of poetry and prose published by Pulley Press on April 23, 2024!! We’re so delighted to work with Frances McCue and Pulley Press, whose mission is to publish and support rural poets! And check out the beautiful photo collage, my stepson Dylan created! Dan Schafer’s book design is absolutely stunning! We couldn’t be happier!

Glass Cabin chronicles the thirteen years we have spent building our home by hand out of secondhand tin, tornado-snapped power poles, and church glass on a ridge in rural Alabama. It describes how we built a life with room reserved for writing, the work of measuring cuts for stairs, of hauling water — one ton at a time — up the side of the mountain, of hammering nails, and gathering tin. It is our meditation on hope, on frustration, and on people’s places in the wilder parts of the world.
